Recognition of Trade Union in India: The employers hesitate to give recognition to the trade unions operating in an establishment which is the bone contention of multiplicity of unions.
Minimum Wages Act: When applicable
Minimum wages Act is only applicable when the appropriate government has fixed minimum wages in respect of the category of workmen working in scheduled employment. Other words, the Minimum wages Act 1948 would not be applicable, if it is not appended in schedule of employment or the government has not fixed the minimum wages in respect of that category of employment.
